Moment of Awesome: Adrienne Frost/Cover Girl: After a year in a coma, Adrienne comes back to the mansion, Garrison Kane at her side.

"I told you I wasn't going to get us killed in that traffic. After all, I can always put on the cherry if it gets too slow."

“That’s fine for you; you haven’t been bedridden for a year,” Adrienne smirked, slowly planting her feet and balancing herself to a standing position. Despite rehab on Muir, she was a long way from being back to one hundred percent. Top-of-the-line equipment had been employed to try and keep the body in good health during her coma, but the loss of muscle tone and strength was something that couldn’t be avoided or recovered without a lot of work.

“You were circulating the rumor that i went to space, right?” Adrienne asked as she accepted the custom-made cane from Garrison. “I want everyone to think i was an astronaut!”

"Sadly the story of what actually happened made the rounds, so I didn't get to make up any fancy excuses for you." Kane said, pulling out her bags from the car trunk. "Although the rumours that the whole thing was engineered by the Brotherhood or the Hellfire Club certainly popped up."

“Oh jeez. Are the Brotherhood still around?” Adrienne asked as she made her way carefully around the car towards the garage door. Her brow was furrowed with the effort, and her pace was slower than usual, but otherwise she showed no signs of difficulty walking.

"Not really. Magneto seems to be a lot more cautious these days." He held open the door for her. "Granted, the Hellfire Club has been pretty quiet as well. Maybe a side effect of the incident? Instead of the usual people wanting to kill us, we get all new people trying to kill us."

"Well, you do have that certain j'ne sais quoi that makes everyone you know want to kill you, darling," Adrienne laughed, heading into the mansion with a nod of thanks to him for holding the door. "Huh." She paused to glance around the hallway, looking disappointed. "I don't see any red and grey and white banners with red socks on them hanging from the rafters. I thought I made it clear that when I came back, I wanted this place decked out like Hogwarts in honour of the Sox's season."

"People are just getting ahead of Houston's inevitable ousting them in the post season." He said, heading for their suite. "Although, I should point out, there's only a handful of us paying attention. Besides, you said you didn't want a big deal about coming home."

"I definitely don't. But really? A fanfare would have killed you?" Adrienne smirked, making her way at almost-normal speed to the suite.

"Might have. I'm very fragile these days." Kane said as he opened the door. While there wasn't a fanfare, there was a Welcome Home banner strung across the room, from the moosehead to the door. It was covered in encouraging notes from her friends welcoming her back. Rooney even got into it, as much as the ginger tabby does, greeting her with a yawn.

“Aw!” Adrienne kissed Kane on the cheek upon seeing the banner. “Thanks! I mean, i’m assuming this is your doing and not the cat’s. Man. Didn’t think i’d be happy to see this place again,” she muttered, walking around the familiar space. “It’s funny, but not ha-ha funny... every time i’m away from this place for an extended period of time i’m kinda surprised it’s still standing when i get back.”

"To be fair, it's usually a near thing that it isn't burnt down. Even with our current lack of things planning to kill all the things to deal with lately. I'm sure it will just be us getting complacent before some cosmic evil drops in."

"I would ask why we keep living here with statements like that hanging over our heads," Adrienne chuckled, setting her handbag down on the coffee table and going through to the kitchenette, "but I think what happened to me is a pretty good example of how we can't escape cosmic evil or just general bad shit happening no matter what we do."
