Plot Summary
After a dimensional anomaly is detected in the Nevada desert, eXcalibur deploys alongside a few select X-Men to investigate. They arrive at the site of a crashed spacecraft manned by humanoids with avian traits who claim to have escaped an attack using an experimental jump-drive. Peace to agreed to with the provision that Clint and Molly would help assist in repairing the ship.
The mutants are invited aboard for a tour, where tensions quietly simmer — Namor and Marius clash over cultural norms, Bobbi and Kyle nurse growing suspicions after finding a sealed off chamber, and Matt admits to Molly that he is sensing odd things.
After a night under the stars, Kyle and Marius begin showing signs of illness, alarming Molly, who suspects more than just desert dehydration. Clint and Matt reawaken the ship’s AI — and are immediately attacked as the system warns them the supposed survivors are in fact Brood parasites. At the same time, Bobbi is ambushed outside the ship, forcing her and Namor to fight. The team regroups over comms, compares notes, and realizes the entire crew may already be compromised.
With the threat escalating, Molly and Kyle set off to extract Clint and Matt, venting frustration on the way. Simultaneously, Bobbi, Namor, and Marius reach a sealed-off section of the ship and discover the real Starjammers in cryostasis.
Reinforcements arrive on the bridge to rescue Clint and Matt after the ship's original crew is freed.
With help from eXcalibur, the Brood are subdued and the infection is treated. Sikorsky, the ship’s robotic medic, treats the wounded. The Starjammers prepare to return to their home dimension to warn the Imperium. Matt, poring over multiversal law, offers legal advice to help them avoid arrest for prior rebel activity.
In gratitude, the team receives alien tech detailing their dimensional jump drive and faster than light capabilities — though its usefulness is limited by Earth’s material constraints.
