So that's going to make things hard for you, to get readjusted to the lower levels. Which means we should probably look at a way to feed you that doesn't rely on magic, but also doesn't mess up anything else." She eyed him speculatively. "You said light is good?"

Moment of Awesome - Tyrone Johnson/Cloak : Concerned about his powers and never-ending hunger, Ty approaches Amanda Sefton to ask how magic works.

"Pretty sure my power wants to eat magic things. I wasn't the eating machine I usually am in Asgard, and there was a lot more ambient magic there. It's been a few years, but I remember what happened at that church when my hunger consumed all the light and heat there. I'm a little afraid of it getting out of control." The words tumbled out of his mouth like he couldn't stop them, and he couldn't look at Amanda when he finished.

"Ah. Now this? This is useful." Amanda couldn't help but be reminded of her own beginnings, back when she had the magic addiction and wondered how it was for Tyrone. "Okay, what you're talking about, it's a bit like how magic users operate. Only for them, energy goes in, and then it comes back out again as a spell of some sort. For you... you said it just disappears?" At his nod, she continued. "So less of an energy converter and more of an energy... consumer, I s'pose." She chewed on her thumbnail, thinking things over. "The real problem here is that there's nowhere near the amount of ambient magical energy on earth as there is on Asgard. So that's going to make things hard for you, to get readjusted to the lower levels. Which means we should probably look at a way to feed you that doesn't rely on magic, but also doesn't mess up anything else." She eyed him speculatively. "You said light is good?"

Ty tried not to look as embarrassed as he felt. "It wasn't really voluntary, it happened when I was terrified, but yeah, I think I wasn't hungry for about five minutes."

"What kinds of light was it? Ordinary electricity-type light, like a street light, or something more specific?"

“ALL the light was gone,” he said. “The candles, the electric lights, you couldn’t even see light coming in from outside.”

"Hmm." Amanda considered this for a time. "It sounds like that your mutation lets you consume any kind of energy, not just magic. Which is good, since if it was just magic, you'd be having a serious jones by now after being in Asgard. I know I had trouble getting used to normal levels after I was there." She paused, then asked, as if a thought had just struck her. "Have you worked much with the light generators? Tandy and Allison and the other one... Nica?"

Ty coughed. "They're going to think I'm some sort of pervert." That didn't stop his embarrassed grin.
