Biography
The son of Robert and Julie Coulson, Phil Coulson was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 8, 1964. Coulson grew up being a huge fan of Captain America, acquiring a vintage Captain America Card Collection over the course of two years. Coulson lost his father at a very young age, and his mother is now deceased as well. After high school, he was recruited right away to the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, eventually becoming a special agent and was taught by his supervising officer Nick Fury.
Coulson later went on to become Fury's trusted right-hand man.
The Bus
Following the Event, Coulson was directed to create and lead a specialised operations team, running from one of SHIELD's high-tech stealth planes, nicknamed "The Bus". Coulson hand-picked a select group, who would tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet, the new, the strange and the unknown.
Powers/Abilities
Coulson is a baseline human, but highly trained in hand-to-hand combat, marksmanship and explosives. He is also a consummate "people person", able to set others at ease with his manner, which stands him in good standing both on missions and as part of his day-to-day operations with others.
