As part of their new cooperative relationship with the Avengers following Fear in the Dark, Tony Stark provided the X-Men with some SHIELD tech to upgrade the Danger Room. One quiet Sunday, Garrison, Everett, Sue, Reed and Hank set about installing the upgrades. At first, all seemed to go well. But then some kind of quantum energy accident resulted in the inhabitants of the mansion disappearing. The science team were able to track them down... they had been integrated into the Danger Room's programming, trapped in a series of scenarios. In order to escape, they had to complete the objective for each one:

The Illiad: Meggan, Sharon, Ty, Kurt, Clea and Logan were dropped into the middle of the Greek camp and had to quickly take stock of the situation without being discovered. Fortunately, a hapless soldier stumbled out of his nearby tent; after questioning him, the group realised they somehow had ended up on the beaches below the city of Troy during the Trojan War, and the question became how to back to their own reality. The group split into two smaller groups, with Sharon and Logan off to cause the biggest distraction they could while the others worked on getting to the walls of Troy. Meggan and Clea split off from Kurt and Ty and faced off against Aetenor and Dolon, respectively; in the open plains below the city of Troy, Sharon and Logan, dressed in the battle gear, caused a ruckus and faced off against Hector and Aeneas, heroes of legend. Kurt and Ty breached the walls of Troy in whatever shape or form they could, then went back for the others. With the walls of Troy been breached, the group scrambled to get back together, in order to avoid being killed, or left behind.

In the Danger Room, Team!Science manage to haul back the group from The Illiad, but it wasn't the gentlest ride, and Garrison and Ev came up with the solution of going to fetch each group themselves, to avoid further risk of injury.

Harry Potter: Angelo, Alex, Hope, Marie-Ange, Jean-Phillipe and Stephen found themselves de-aged to young teens and trapped in the Harry Potter universe. First they were trapped in the Devil's Snare vines, then there was a troll, which Jean-Phillipe defeated with the Crucio curse. Angelo used his flying squirrel trick to grab a flying key in the second test. For the third test, Hope was electrocuted by Jean-Phillipe in order for her to become a 'ghost' and phase through a wall to obtain the answer to a riddle. The death was only temporary, however, with Marie-Ange and Alex performing CPR and reviving her. The last challenge required information from all of them, with Stephen going to face Quirrel/Voldemort. A warning from Marie-Ange's precog led her to follow Stephen and kill Quirrel before Voldemort could destroy Stephen, and the group were retrieved from the scenario by Garrison and Everett - with the help of the Philosopher's Stone.

Minecraft: Kyle, Terry, Darcy, Clarice, and Bobby end up in a world made of blocks, which Bobby identifies as Minecraft. Terry and Kyle set out to explore and discover the weirdness that is the Minecraft world, including that they can make things and that they can communicate with the others despite the distance between them. Darcy is killed by a Creeper, but doesn't actually die - she just loses all of her stuff. Clarice, unluckily for her, has the teleportation powers of Endermen, but also a lot of their quirks, which include not wanting to be looked at. Darcy also discovers that she can use her powers to hack the game and use command cheats, except Bobby (the only person with extensive knowledge of the game) can't remember commands. He does come up with an idea to get them home, however - building a portal. Unfortunately, that involves a lot more digging and rocks and farming and crafting. And enchanting. No one is particularly impressed with their circumstances, but they manage to build a portal the Nether, where Kane and Everett collect them and get them out of the blocky world.

Star Wars: A long time ago in a galaxy far away... Kevin, Bobbi, Wanda, Sooraya, Maya and Amanda were a group of Rebels infiltrating an Empire prison planet, with no idea of their true identities or that this was all a fiction. They were led to the prison by former 'resident' Aola’Toor and got into the strongroom to retrieve their prize, a rare Jedi holocron with instructions how to build a lightsaber. With this holocron, Rebel Luke Skywalker would be in position to replace the one lost on Bespin. However, they were captured by Imperial troops and it was revealed that Griggs had betrayed them in return for amnesty from the Empire as a former Jedi researcher. the former Sith was killed in the fight and the rest of the group were placed in a cell. Tara’s body was hauled away to be transported back to her Inquisitor father while the Imperial Commander informed Griggs that his deal would not be honoured and Lord Vader had requested a personal meeting with him on Coruscant. However, he didn't notice Kevin's Astromech droid accessing the base controls, freeing the others. Meanwhile, Tara was very much alive; the former Sith killed her escort and moved to rejoin the others. As they met up near the hangers after their escape, the Rebels fought their way out to a shuttle, and off the planet. Griggs revealed that the holocron they stole had been replaced with a fake, and that they had the real one with them and had successfully completed their mission. Then, inexplicably, two strangers turned up in the shuttle while they’re in hyperspace - Garrison and Everett, who yanked them all back to real life.

Dec 16 - The Danger Room Paradox: Garrison, Everett and Team!Scienceget down to upgrading the Danger Room with new tech on a quiet Sunday afternoon, which doesn't go as expected; having worked out the extent of the disaster, plans are made to fix things; in the Harry Potter Universe, group of newly de-aged mansionites - Angelo, Alex, Hope, Marie-Ange, Jean-Phillipe and Stephen - find themselves a little… wrapped up; in The Last of Us, Laurie, Xavin, and Felicia have been dropped into an unknown location in what appears to be the middle of winter and will have to determine what's going on and who else is there, while in another spot nearby, Jean, Rahne, and Natasha are going through the same thing; in Welcome to Night Vale, it’s ...not that welcoming for Topaz, Nica, Miles, Jubilee and Warren; in Minecraft, Kyle and Terry arrive in a strange place that appears to be made of the color orange and cubes, and incidentally they are also made of cubes; Darcy and Bobby are also in a world of cubes, although theirs is more floral and forested, and Bobby identifies the world as Minecraft; Star Wars: A long time ago in a galaxy far away... Welcome to Night Vale: Finding themselves in Welcome to Night Vale and discovering it was not that welcoming, Topaz, Nica, Miles, Jubilee and Warren decided on the advice of Topaz and Nica (who were fans of the podcast), that the local library would serve as a good place to hide, minus the Librarians, and headed that way. Miles was horrified to find he had become a human spider, Nica's powers were in overdrive, causing her to glow uncontrollably and Allison was reacting strangely to something. Warren, on the other hand, revelled in a sudden sparkliness. Meeting a Nightvale Angel, they were able to get through town and talk to Carlos, who gave them a possible location for missing radio announcer Cecil. It turned out Cecil had been trapped by a Librarian at his niece's school, and the group was able to rescue him (and themselves) with an overload of Allison's powers. With Cecil saved, their 'mission' was achieved and they were pulled out of the scenario.

In investigating where they were and what had happened to the world, the two groups met up and Natasha revealed she had a note indicating they need to go to Baltimore. They were forced to stop again for the night and seek more supplies and were again attacked, this time by survivors, with Rachel making her sudden (and welcome) appearance. With Laurie using her pheromones and Rahne using her transitional form to slow the spread of the zombie virus, they managed to reach their destination, a hospital where researchers believed Natasha held the key to curing the zombie virus.
