Living At The X-Mansion

Dr. Leonard Samson attended Oklahoma State University on a football scholarship, also excelling in his academic studies. Though his large stature and physical power made him a natural to go pro, Samson instead chose to study psychiatry at NYU. It was there that he met the man who would become both a mentor and close friend, Professor Charles Xavier.

In February 2004, Samson received a phonecall from his former mentor, requesting that he come to the school for a few weeks to help counsel students in the wake of Illyana’s attempted kidnapping. However, Samson quickly realized that he had barely scratched the surface of the difficulties students were experiencing at the end of the month. Xavier was quick to offer him a permanent position, which Samson was just as quick to accept. He added to the student population when he found and arranged for the amnesiac Jane Doe to be brought to the school.

Though Samson does not live at the mansion, his ever present pager and crazy driving ability allow him to be at the mansion almost immediately in the case of emergencies requiring psychiatric assistance.

Dr. Samson still consults at mental hospitals across the country. He is considered an expert in working with mutant children and teenagers and will often travel across the country for specific cases.
