Kwannon's reign damaged Betsy's confidence and many of her relationships, including that with [[Scott Summers]], and she spent the next few years somewhat aimless. [[X-Men|X-Man]] for a time, she eventually shifted towards the team's intelligence operations and then helped create [[X-Force]]. The public face of the group's cover identity, the [[Snow Valley Memorial Center for Mutant Affairs]], Betsy has taken a sabbatical in order to assist her twin brother [[Brian Braddock|Brian]] care for their mentally ill elder sibling, Jamie.

Daughter of an Australian media mogul and his Aboriginal wife, Monet St. Croix was the veritable spoiled rich brat and enfant terrible. Expelled from a number of private schools, she was eventually sent to Xavier’s, where she discovered there was more to the world than just enjoying herself. She joined the NGO Elpis and later became an X-Man, inititially out of boredom but remaining out of a growing sense of altruism. Following an incident where her estranged brother tried to steal her brain with his powers, Monet found herself dealing with being less than perfect for the first time in her life as she coped with brain damage in the aftermath. In 2012 she returned to Australia to work for her father following a rowdy break up with then-boyfriend Kurt Sefton.
