"What've we got?" Dr. Clarice "Fergie" Ferguson asked as the EMT crew came running in with a patient on a stretcher.

"Mutant, just manifested," the lead EMT responded, "He's having difficulty breathing so he's on O2, no drugs administered..." he continued on, listing symptoms and their non-treatments. When dealing with a manifesting mutant, not treating them was considered to be the best thing since no one knew how they would react.

"Hi," Clarice looked down into the scared boys eyes, which were an off green. Kinda cool. "I'm Fergie. I like your eyes."

He smiled weakly, gasping despite the oxygen "You're a rainbow..." he said softly, sweating profusely. "I'm Jeremy."

"You're going to be just fine, Jeremy," she reassured him as they transfered him from the stetcher to the ER bed before sedating him lightly.

A nurse cut his clothing off as Clarice began a physical exam to check for any physical mutations. "Okay, we have an alpha level mutant manifestation, people, powers unknown, but he's not liking air. Prep the... ah ha!" she smiled, finding what she had hoped to see. "Let's get him to the baths, I want him in water in 30 seconds!"

They raced the bed out of the room and down the hall where a bathtub was waiting with luke-warm water. Not waiting to get the bed in position to move him, Clarice teleported him into the bathtub where two nurses were already waiting to support his head and make sure he was okay.

Instantly, he began to breathe better and his colour improved as he slept in the bath. "Told you, you were going to be fine. Someone contact his parents if they haven't been already. Their son is amphibious."

Leaving the bathing room, she headed straight for the staff lounge to make a phone call.

"Hey, Hank, I have a potential student here... he's a water-breather."
