Plot Summary
Even Farouk isn't immune to potential consequences of the shadow world. His time spent in the mansion, and his involvement with the growing Shiar issues has made some of those in the Alamut concerned, and one man, Jacob Reisz, decided that Farouk represents a dangerous liability to the group, especially with his resistance to the new Indian regime. Knowing that Farouk was investigating the new agreement between India and Russia involving oil and natural gas piplines, which could only involve India securing Pakistan's own fields, Reisz betrayed Farouk to D. Ken Neramani. Through his power, Neramni took steps forcing Farouk to flee, even as he was on the trail of a man who he believed holds the key to India's further plans in Pakistan. A Sikkim diplomat had gone underground following the deal, and Farouk believed that he is trying to stay alive long enough to pass the information on to others.
Farouk managed to escape several close calls, attempting to reach help at the mansion with disasterous results, until he was finally arrested at a small airfield in Thailand, and imprisoned. However, just before being captured, Farouk was able to get a message to Garrison Kane, looking for help from his father to extradite himself. Christian Kane was able to uncover Farouk's purpose, and contacted Betsy Braddock at Snow Valley to ask for some assistance.
Betsy assembled a small team to travel to Madripoor, in order to find the Sikkim diplomat before the Imperial Guard were able to. To help them, Christian put them in touch with an old associate from SHIELD, Tim 'Dum-Dum' Dugan. Dugan, a former operative turned security expert and ladies man, helps the team track down the information they need to locate the diplomat.
Meanwhile, dressed as a transexual Buddhist nun, Christian Kane broke Farouk out of jail, and the two men escaped via a skyhook flight piloted by Christian's wife. They then began a dangerous route to meet up with the others in Madripoor, starting with boarding a hyrofoil out of Singapore with the Imperial Guard at their heels. Their ship sank at seas, but they were able to barter passage on a Thai gay sex junket for aging business men and politicians. On reaching Madripoor, they were required to negotiate a way through Triad held docks in order to meet up with the others at the diplomat's hiding place.
Unfortunately, Triad had reached the house first, and the team was forced to fight off waves of gunmen. They fended off the first attack, long enough for Christian and Farouk to slip in to speak to the diplomat. Farouk, through Lilandra, made a devil's bargain that in return for dropping the charges, he'd surrender the Sikkim diplomat to the guard. The diplomat was take away by the Imperial Guard, leaving the team to make their way home.
