| Former model and STRIKE agent, Betsy Braddock came to Xavier's following a mission that left her blinded. Her sight restored by Nathaniel Essex in a controversial operation, Betsy was possessed by Kwannon, donor of the brain tissue used in her cure. Kwannon's reign damaged Betsy's confidence and many of her relationships, including that with Scott Summers, and she spent the next few years somewhat aimless. X-Man for a time, she eventually shifted towards the team's intelligence operations and then helped create X-Force. The public face of the group's cover identity, the Snow Valley Memorial Center for Mutant Affairs, Betsy has taken a sabbatical in order to assist her twin brother Brian care for their mentally ill elder sibling, Jamie.
