| Day Zero: October 25, 2008, 6:30 a.m. New York was shattered when Apocalypse and his Horsemen descended on Manhattan, declaring it a new mutant homeland. In the chaos that followed, both the Snow Valley and Xavier's mutants found themselves engaged in a battle to survive and protect the city they called home. Apparent losses - Jennie Stavros, Marie-Ange Colbert, Doug Ramsey, Betsy Braddock - compounded things, as well as the New Mutants being trapped in the chaos. Worse to come was the revelation that the Horseman known as Death was in fact one of their own - a brainwashed and transformed Alison Blaire.
The battle for New York raged over three days, and when it was done, Apocalypse was alone, facing those mutants he had called race-traitors. Weakened by their scorn and rejection, he was arrested by Garrison Kane and taken into SHIELD custody, but the repercussions of his actions continue.
