Brought up by a tribe of alley cats and believing herself to be one of them, Catseye turned up in an animal shelter where [[Rahne Sinclair]] volunteered, scaring the life out of the workers when she transformed into a tall, purple-haired and very naked girl. Brought to the school to learn to be human, she eventually reunited with her older brother and moved to upstate New York to establish closer ties. She returned to the school after two years and made tremendous progress towards seeing herself as a human being rather than a cat, joining the [[X-Men]] as as trainee and establishing a relationship with werewolf [[Nicholas Gleason]]. When he [[A Betrayal of Heart|went missing after an attack on the school's graduation ceremony]], Catseye, unable to sit by and wait, obtained permission to go look for him, with the caveat she check in regularly. It is expected she will return when she has either found Nick, or when she has accepted that he may be dead.

First, when a group of Israeli mutant settlers refused to be relocated, the Israeli government asked for the X-Men's help to peaceably resolve the situation. She fought alongside the X-Men in the ensuing battle. More recently, she argued for the inclusion of the X-Men on a raid to a supposed Iranian nuclear facility to save the mutant child forced to work for the Iranians.
