Weapon X is the codename of a United States government project designed to create enhanced soldiers for various military operations. Very little information about the project is currently known, except that its operatives were used in various covert operations through the 1980s and 1990s.
Overseen by Colonel William Stryker, the Weapon X project was funded through a secret fund, kept going by Graydon Creed, an influential Senator that Stryker was blackmailing into supporting his project despite its "off-the-books" status.
A number of research and development projects for Weapon X were based at Alkali Lake, and were destroyed during the events of X2.
