Moment of Awesome - Alex Summers/Havok: Having taken newcomer Match to a hotel to avoid the powers swap craziness, Alex finds himself explaining magic and the teams.

Match had been quiet since Alex had picked him up, though he'd done nothing to cover his interest at the hotel they'd arrived at until... whatever was going on at the mansion he'd found himself at resolved itself. Or he had to leave. Whichever came first. Then had come the 'hey we can order room service' and he'd perked up at the mention, and ordering, of food. "So," he finally piped up as he blankly scrolled through what channel options the place had. "Does this sorta stuff happen a lot? A quarantine due to a highly contagious disease?"

"Highly contagious disease, no." Alex had ordered nachos with everything. It was a god awful mess. He loved it. "Shit does happen in the mansion sometimes, though. Kind of a consequence of so many mutants in one place. And magic people. Oh, and magic is real."

The fry that had been on its way into his mouth came to a screeching halt as Match stared at Alex, trying to gauge if the man was joking. Nothing gave, so he turned the tv back off. "Okay, wait explain, uhhhhh, all of that. I get place full of people, we ran into some bullshit in the Morlocks, but nothing like this, and magic? What? Like someone's powers are magic-like or they are magic? Like that Miyazaki movie with the girl who got turned old?"

"Uh, the second one, I think. They can do magic stuff. Like, bring stuff to life and transform things and other stuff." Alex waved an uncertain hand like he was casting a spell. "IDK, those guys tend to gravitate toward another team. I stay in my lane."

That got a full roller coaster of facial expressions from the younger man as he tried to make himself understand what was being said. "But you and Quire, and Angelo and Sooaraya are all... like on a team? And all these magic people are on some magic team? How many teams are in this place anyway?" The question was muttered before he fixed Alex with a firm look and cocked his head. "Wait, would I know if I'm magic?"

"I think that's something you'd know," Alex said, setting his food aside and leaning forward. "Like, they grew up learning magic and stuff. As for teams... there's four. They each have their own area of expertise, so to speak."

"Oh thank fuck." Match sighed with relief. He took the opportunity to shove part of his burger into his mouth and go over what the man had said. "What're they?" He finally asked. "The teams, I mean. Like there's a magic team, whatever it is you and the others do, and then two more? Assuming the power training I've been doing isn't a team... right?"

"Powers training is kind of a team, but at some point I have to wonder if they just like naming things." Alex took a quick sip of his drink. "So there's X-Factor, we're a PI firm that specializes in helping mutants. There's the X-Men, they fight threats against mutants. The spies... I'm not sure what they do, honestly, it's very hush hush. Spies, ya know. And eXcalibur studies the wormhole in the church on the grounds. That's the thing that kind of caused this powers craziness."
