When writing the application for the character of Kyle Gibney, Frito had been inspired by the voice and mannerisms of Beast Boy from the Teen Titans cartoon. After several months of Icon Bases that were less than ideal, it was suggested to her by Ben that she use Greg Cipes. Greg Cipes happens to provide the voice for Beast Boy.
