Biography
A successful business man of Yugoslavian descent, Karl Mordo has been involved in the Selene cults since he was in school. Part of a secret 'Skull and Bones' style society, Mordo eventually earned the attention of Selene, who subtly aided him on his climb. He went on to establish a small shipping firm, which he later turned into a much larger shipping and import/export company. He proved especially effective in recruiting other business leaders to Selene worship, providing funds that bought her political power.
With her loss, Mordo has spent considerable resources both seeking a way to find her, and making sure the cult did not fold in on itself. He funded Alarune's presence in Brazil, as well as other scattered initiatives. Unfortunately, the magical ability of those he could access was low. Candra's reappearance gave him access to those abilities again.
Following the disruption of the ritual intended to ressurrect Selene, Mordo and his people were arrested by the FBI on charges of theft of protected historical artifacts and various other charges. In April 2010 he was freed by a Selene-possessed Meggan Szardos to assist in Selene's plan to escape from her prison at the bottom of the bay. During the retrieval of the Nova Roma stones from the museum, they were interrupted by X-Force and in the course of the battle, Mordo's throat was cut by the deranged Peter Alarune.
Powers/Abilities
Mordo possessed no mystic or mutant abilities, however, several of the members of his body of cultists did, and he relied on them, backed up by a small cadre of mercenaries.
