Kraven was the reigning champion of the Most Dangerous Game, a sadistic internet "reality show" put on by Mojo Enterprises. As viewers watched via a live video feed, Kraven would track an individual released onto the show's set, and hunt them to the death. When Kyle Gibney found video of one of his comrades from his fight club days being murdered by Kraven, he turned it over to Garrison Kane.
In the ensuing investigation, Sam Guthrie was kidnapped during a raid on Mojo's headquarters and forced to compete in the Most Dangerous Game. Despite being at a disadvantage due to the environment and other obstacles Mojo threw in his way, Sam was victorious, becoming the first person to defeat Kraven the Hunter.
