Plot Summary
Following the disappearance of Jenny Ransome and Phillip Moreau, the scrutiny on Genosha largely collapses, as the world simply moves on in the face of little evidence and Genosha’s repeated denials. During the course of an investigation into an unrelated kidnapping, the FBI discovers an odd outlier; while the kidnapper left behind a ransom note and instructions, there was never any further contact. But there was a call made to an international number from the house around the time of the kidnapping, the same number called from the hotel room Ransome and Moreau vanished from. The number goes into an international exchange, and is untraceable from that point on. After doing some investigation, they turn up six other cases around the world with similar information – no trace of the kidnapper, the victim being in their mid-teens, and an international exchange. In four of the cases, the victim was an identified mutant, but with nominal powers.
During the investigation, an Interpol contact of Terry's, Luis Tardio, also turns up another lead. Cristu Bulat, a known associate in the sex slavery trade, made a call to that number that Interpol intercepted. The call was nothing more than three beeps of his phone, but they believe it to be a kind of symbol. Kane passes the information along to the more clandestine X-teams, who take down Bulat while he in the midst of a deal. Bulat reveals that he receives a high commission for young mutants of any strength that he can ‘deliver’ to his buyer. He refuses to say who it is.

This arc is the X-Project version of the epic canon storyline X-Tinction Agenda.
The events of this plot still occurred in Phase 2, but specifics, such as which characters were involved, remain fuzzy for the purposes of not breaking the world. ;)
