Callie's similar powers were in remission due to the trauma of her mother's death, but gradually as she began to settle at the school, they returned. A dedicated student and somewhat prim young woman, Callie was somewhat aloof from most of her peers, preferring her own company and to study. Her relationship with new arrival [[Fred Dukes]] changed her outlook, although it was to be short-lived: in [[February 2010]] she left for Brazil, to intern with the [[Alvorecer Novo]]/New Dawn mutant environmental group and learn more about her plant-controlling abilities, planning to return to attend college at Columbia.

Jennie Stavros, the illegitimate daughter of a drug using dancer and a Greek millionaire, came to the mansion as a witness in a murder case against Vegas mobsters when her best friend was killed. The case eventually went on without her, but during that time she had found a new life at the school. Despite kidnappings, Houndings, dramas and near-misses of various sorts, she eventually joined the X-Men and entered college, majoring in Dance. A difficult 2009 pushed her to find resources outside of the mansion and she eventually took an internship with the London Royal Ballet Company. For the young woman who at one point was being groomed as a future leader of the X-Men, dance is but one part of her life, and Xavier's remains the first and only home she's had.
