Biography
Younger sister to Shiro, Leyu was born when he was eight. Her birth resulted in the death of their mother, and when their father also died four years later, the two siblings were raised by their cousins, Keniuchio Harada and Mariko Yashida. Leyu remained under their care when Shiro was sent to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters to learn more about his powers, but when she was nine, Shiro was disowned by Keniuchio for refusing to join the Yakuza and he took Leyu back with him to the United States, the school being the only safe place he knew for her.
Leyu remained at the school, making friends among the younger set of students (Miles Blaire, Artie Maddicks, the Manh twins Nga and Leong. She also had something of a schoolgirl crush on Shiro's best friend Alex Summers for many years. Life at Xavier's was not without incident - there was an kidnapping attempt and getting lost in a dinosaur-infested park - but with her brother always keeping an eye out for her, Leyu came through things unscathed and her cheerful, sunny disposition intact.
In August 2009, at the age of fourteen, Leyu manifested identical powers to her brother. With his personal experience of their destructive power, he was far more upset about it than she was. She remains at Xavier's while Shiro undergoes therapy at Muir Island, undergoing training in her new abilities.
Powers/Abilities
Like her brother, Leyu possesses the mutant ability to absorb sunlight and use the stored chemical energy to ionize air into plasma. This has only just manifested, and she will need assessment and training to determine her limits and her strength.
