Biography
Walter Lawson. A physicist at Cape Canaveral, FL in his late 30s/early 40s. His grandfather was an American soldier during World War II who had been captured and experimented upon by the Japanese under Unit 731. His grandfather has been sickly ever since, so Lawson petitioned Shiro's foundation for reparations. He is a calm, thoughtful, tolerant man who tends to put other people's safety before his own.
During an attack by the Hand, Lawson revealed his mutant status to Shiro, assisting him with preventing casualties from a falling building. His power proved to be a temptation to the Hand, who abducted him to use him for a rite, summoning their demon god. Shiro interrupted the rite, with the help of Amanda Sefton and Wanda Maximoff, and afterwards Lawson returned home to the States, content to remain living his quiet life.
Powers/Abilities
Lawson possesses the power to absorb electromagnetic radiation and convert it into chemical energy, with which he gains super-strength, flight, and the ability to discharge the energy as plasma.
