Moment of Awesome - Jay Guthrie/Icarus: When Namor happens upon a fishing Jay, the interaction takes a number of turns, before the younger man offers an ear to the ancient royal. Even if part of him believes the man to be a ghost.

Jay turned slightly to look at the wet figure behind him- no monster, but Jay wasn't going to rule out the man being some sort of spectre. He was surprised to notice the small, hummingbird like wings on the man's ankles. Ever since he'd gotten his wings he hadn't been one much for submerging himself. Then again, there was waterfowl.

Maybe this man was more like a duck.

Jay glared at him slightly as his heart slowed down. "You got me pretty damn good," he said to the figure. "And that's a shame about the bass."

Namor stopped, turned, and squinted. "Never doubt that I do everything 'pretty damn good.'" He took a swig of water. "There is more pleasant fishing on the other side of the lake — a healthy stock of perch." He stretched his arms wide, seemingly unbothered by being wet in the chilly March air.

Jay's politeness got the better of him, now that he was willing to rule the figure out as a ghost after watching him drink. "Well, I'll be taking that advice if'n you'd like to join," he figured it would be a no and kicked off. Why walk all the way around the lake when he could fly there in a shorter path?

This got a stare. "You," and the incredulity in the Atlantean's tone was so plain as he squared his shoulders that he might as well have been pointy, "Clearly understand nothing of Namor." His eyes blazed with pride for just a moment, but then, "I have not been fishing in 5,000 years."

Maybe Jay had judged this Namor as not being a spectre too soon. He didn't sound like he was exaggerating when he said 5,000 years. "You want to be joining in then?" He asked, not letting himself be put off by this self important man's attitude, especially when he sensed just a hint of sadness in his last statement.

The full weight of inhuman ice blue's eyes fell upon Jay Guthrie as the young man received his full appraisal. Whatever they found, Namor answered, "We accept your invitation. It should be diverting, at the least." He nodded. "What is your weapon of choice? Simple hook and line?"

"Well, I don't got a net for trawling and I never liked folks who shoot at the fish," Jay said as he began to fly to the other side of the lake, following Namor's knowledge of it. It also gave him an excuse to turn away from the man. That stare gave him the heebie-jeebies something fierce.

The other, muscled man took a minute to retrieve his water bottle from the dock, although he didn't follow immediately after. He had retreated back up to the boathouse itself, grabbing an item. Still, his voice echoed across the water to Jay in questioning disbelief.

"They do what to the fish?"

"Shoot at 'em," Jay called back, gesturing as if he held a shot gun in his arms. "Bam! Just overkill I think."

The Atlantean was there, then, crossing the lake on his own flight — movements quick and jerky compared to Jay's own soaring. A man stepping on air between hovers. His wings blurred in motion. "Typical," Namor judged, "Mankind loves to show power when it is least needed." He had fetched, it seemed, both a practice spear and an old, unloved fishing pole.

Namor darted forward, if only to be just a breath in the lead. "The joy is in the hunt, not the kill. Foolish."

Jay watched the other man fly, hummingbird-like and urgent, like he had to get wherever he was going yesterday. He observed Namor's fishing gear- he hadn't even thought of spear fishing. Jay wasn't sure he had ever met anyone who spear-fished. Then again, if this man was some sort of ghostie like he had expected, why wouldn't he? Wasn't that something they'd done before fishing poles?

Just how old was this guy?

Jay landed into a walk, setting his own fishing gear about. "My joy's always been in the atmosphere and the wait, but to each his own. I agree with you about the power thing though. No need for it."

2004: Charles tells Nathan about nearly being lost in the collective unconscious as a young telepath. Marauders (plot): Alison emails Charles re not letting Sarah be alone with Miles.

2005: Nathan has a pre-cognitive moment whilst reviewing the files on his father's group. Moira asks Remy to check into Nathan's father as well. Saul Morrow comes to the school to meet Nathan and his family and students.

2006: Remy and Lorna continue to discuss their relationship. Bleeding: Marius begins to undergo some changes. The Rictor Effect: Julio Richter encounters Magneto and manifests.

2007: Carmen Animi Vermium: Marius accepts Monet's invitation and notifies people of his impending absence accordingly. Immram: Wanda meets Tara Trask at a university function and receives an invitation to lunch. John is hard at work in the Elpis offices and Nathan invites him to do more. Terry emails Clarice, asking about the Attilan disappearance. Lorna encounters Laurie in the kitchen and suggests she go talk to Dr. Samson. Tabitha finds a spooky book in the library and emails Amanda for advice. Monet emails Kurt to check on him. Farouk introduces himself to the school at large. Shiro talks to Nathan about the Unit 731 victims and hits upon a plan to help them. Sound of Silence: Crystal proposes creating a mutant school on Attilan.

2008: Red God: Nathan and Jean are rather punchy and disoriented after their astral adventures; Jean uses the link to Scott to get some stability; T'Challa and Ororo are a little awkward with each other following the battle, but resolve things. Jubilee wakes up disoriented after a night out. Yvette meets Callie.

2009: Jay emails the Pride goers with arrangements; Clarice helps Jay get ready and then they literally drag Shiro out of bed to go; Amanda decides to join things. Yvette emails Julian, telling him she doesn't want to see him again after what he did to Angel the night before. Analog Kid, Digital Man: Crystal and Laurie arrive in Dubai and confusion ensues as to who was meant to be where; Forge and Crystal have a conversation about current issues and talk about their fight. Mnemovore: Lil takes over from Nathan to let him get some sleep, she reads to Jean-Paul, hoping it'll jog something inside him. Later Nathan returns, and they talk a little about Johnny, and about Jean-Paul's recovery, or lack thereof. Clarice posts about Pride, a girl she met and turning straight again. Shiro meets up with Nick at Pride and they talk about family, minorities and coping with loss and prejudice.

2010: Butterflies and Hurricanes: Kevin visits Jean-Paul to tell him what has happened and they carefully test his new lack of powers.

2011: Molly emails Warren about what she needs to take to the Hamptons; Kevin asks for help relocating his unsold sculptures from the gallery back to the mansion. Sarah V. has sudden ice cream cravings and goes with Megan to play mini-golf; they talk about the future and summer vacation. Broken and traumatised by her encounter with the Baron, Wanda seeks comfort from Garrison.

2012: Wade leaves a bottle of Ron de Jeremy Rum for Doug, along with a note reminding him how "dangerous" the Internet is. Doug, in return, leaves a bottle of Crystal Skull Vodka for Wade, and note that reads, "Dan Akroyd>Ron Jeremy." Clarice posts to her journal saying a kid asked her if she ate the "Three-Course Dinner Chewing Gum" from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

2013: Maddie makes a post reminding Sue that Sue must wear a Rangers jersey and post a picture of it on Facebook after the Rangers beat the Yankees in their latest series. Garrison shares his feelings about losing his identity to Adrienne when she questions why they’re having so much sex. Matt visits Topaz in the Box, bringing the end-of-year dance to her since she can't attend it herself.

2014: At the Red X Charity Event, Jean and Scott run into Longshot and Jean confronts him about taking advantage of the tsunami on Avalon, growing increasingly confused when he has no memory of being there and assumes he’s being pranked, which causes Scott and Jean to decide there’s something off about him and agree to keep an eye on him. Sam runs into Longshot’s ‘handler’, Spiral, and is tongue-tied. Nervous about the upcoming auction, Tandy is given self-confidence and, unheard of for her, made embarrassed, by Namor. Cecilia, Lorna, Clarice, Angel, Marius, Yvette and Hope gather and chat backstage before the bachelor/ette auction, which sees Marius unimpressed with the bids on himself, causing him to bid on - and win - his own auction. A table of North, Scott, Jean, and Adrienne discuss Cecilia’s auction, which is driven up by Adrienne and Wade before Longshot engages in a bidding war and wins the doctor’s auction. Adrienne thinks she has Garrison’s auction in the bag before Abigail Brand shows up to try and win the Mountie, but Adrienne’s lamented sobriety pays off when she refuses to take the SWORD director’s bait and keeps her cool to win the auction. Angel texts Marius about her amazement over winning his own auction. Wade texts Longshot with a warning not to hurt Cecilia. Wade texts Marie-Ange asking how to make a fingerprint-less papier-maché horse’s head. Jean texts Wade to thank him for buying her drinks but reminds him she’s still angry with him. Cecilia posts to remind everyone that she’s awesome and asks to be picked up from Harry’s later. Adrienne texts Jean complaining about being sober and asking if an overindulgence of cupcakes would count as backsliding into addiction. Jean texts Logan to inform him that she and Wade are interested in trying to get Logan drunk. Clarice posts about how ridiculous it is that she was auctioned for so little and praises how Cecilia looked.


2015: Adri posts picture of her garden at Salem Center Place to her journal. Namor asks Hope A. to clarify some problematic politics from his history Lessons, but the conversation quickly turns to argument over morality. Jessica and Warren discuss their "buds with benefits" arrangement.

2016:

2018: Needing a break from her training and shifts, Sharon F.investigates a different project: an Xavier Ninja Warrior course.

2018: Tandy is proud of the impact the food bank is making and thanks and rewards volunteers; Bobby and Miles's attempt to be intimate for the first time takes an unexpected turn.
