Magnetic North is a pro-mutant group, devoted to promoting the ideals of their idol Magneto, despite having never met the man. Over half of their members were captured and jailed following the kidnapping of President McKenna's daughters. Several escaped during X-Men Mission: Jailbreak, and two were killed at Muir Island.

Details
Magnetic North is a mutant terrorist group that preaches the gospel of their idol, none other than Magneto. While none of the members have ever had any contact with the man himself, they follow his exploits closely and plan their moves according to how they think he would act in the same situation. Of course, as with any fringe group, Magnetic North attracts a wide range of fanatics, extremists and activists. Most members are drawn to Magnetic North for its values, though others just enjoy the excuse it gives them to be violent in the name of mutant kind.
In November 2009 during the country's biggest ever mass escape which was plotted by Shalimar, Lexa and Jesse as a way to recover their lost members, Gregor, Brennan, Arlee and Refrax escaped. They were located by a team of X-Men and Lexa was captured, Gregor, Arlee and Refrax were recaptured, but Brennan, Jesse and Shalimar remained at large until December 2011, when Brennan, admitted to hospital in New York, was recognised by Clarice Ferguson. When hospital security refused to believe her, she called in the X-Men to assist in his recapture. He has been returned to The Vault to await conviction on charges of escaping from legal custody.
Shalimar and Kilmartin reappeared in January 2015, apparently recruited by Magneto for his attack on Muir Island. They engaged the X-Men team headed by Polaris, forcing them to retreat. It is presumed that they were killed when the Dark Riders detonated their secret bomb and destroyed the island.

Most of the characters for Magnetic North come from bad TV shows or movies with mutants, namely Generation X and Mutant X. Gregor comes from the original Generation X: Phalanx Covenant comic.
