The Destine Arc | |
---|---|
Dates run: | Oct. 30, 2012 - August 31, 2019 |
Run By: | Sam |
Plots: | Operation: A Hammer To Fall, Somewhere I Belong, Family Reunion, Sins of the Father, An Eye for an Eye |
This is the part where you remind me I have friends and allies and people who can back me up, and I don’t need to do this alone, and I know all of that, and I thought of all that. But this stupid fight has been going on for too long, and hurt too many people, and it’s time for it to end. The Destines are never going to stop, but Taboo might, if I’m dead if he has no other choice. And it’ll take all of you out of the line of fire.
A grudge spanning seven years, a feud between two families, and Topaz is stuck in the middle of it all.
Timing
Oct. 30, 2012 - August 31, 2019
Arc Summary
After the death of his wife at the hands of the Destine Clan in May 2011, Luca Ashdown took a dark turn, setting out for revenge against the family, and pulling his then fourteen-year-old daughter Topaz along the ride. She was pulled off the ride in October 2012 by Amanda Sefton and X-Force, and brought back to the mansion for safety and training. Unfortunately, that was far from the end of it for her.
Arc Plots
Operation: A Hammer To Fall: October 2012 - Taboo and Topaz launch their attack against the Destines, drawing the attention of Amanda and X-Force, who go to London to put a stop it and wind up returning home with Topaz.
Somewhere I Belong: June 2013 - After playing dead for several months, Taboo returns for his daughter, determined to make good use of her even if she isn’t loyal to him anymore.
Family Reunion: February 2018 - Taboo has orchestrated a plan to get his family back and kill the Destines at the same time - two birds, one stone.
Sins of the Father: July 2018 - A mysterious curse strikes several mansion residents, and the cost of putting an end to it is high.
An Eye for an Eye: May 2019-August 2019 - Adam Destine takes one last shot at his revenge.

Trivia and Meta
Trivia
A Hammer to Fall was Topaz’ intro plot, and the others helped her to grow up more and accept her place in the mansion, and the world in general.
Meta
Plotrunner: Sam
This very accidentally turned into a plot arc (hence the six-year gap) during the logging of Family Reunion, when Dex opened the plot up to a sequel, which opened things to another sequel, at which point Sam said, “This a god damn arc now, I am calling this an arc,” and no one said she couldn’t.
Due to the arc being split by Phase One and Phase Two, Rossi decided to rewrite Amanda’s history a bit to give Adam a bigger role in it, making the fight a tad more personal for everyone involved.
