Biography
Alejandra was born in a poor area of LA. Her parents died of unknown causes while she was in her teens, and thereafter she was looked after by her brother (only in his teens himself, but they slipped through the cracks of social services). She was something of a local princess, especially after Miguel rose to lead the neighbourhood gang, given anything she wanted, and at the age of fifteen she began dating Miguel's second, Angelo Espinosa.
This happiness didn't last long. When Angelo was sixteen, only a month or two after Alejandra's own sixteenth birthday, he manifested as a mutant and Miguel and his gang turned on him, nearly killing him. Alejandra believed he really was dead for some time, and it left her shocked and grieving - she would later admit to having cried over him.
Not quite three years after Angelo's disappearance, Alejandra herself manifested. Frightened because of the memory of what had happened to Angelo and to others, she had nowhere to turn but to her brother, whose response - better than it might have been - was to keep her at home for her own protection. She put up with this for several months, but as the fear abated, began to resent it. Finally, after a bitter argument with Miguel, she ran away, blowing up their front door on her way out. She got picked up by a mutant gang, who introduced her to Kick. Eventually, knowing that her gang and his were coming into conflict and afraid for her, Miguel bit the bullet and called Angelo in for help, leading to the events of Turf War.
She went to rehab for her Kick habit in New York and became active in a mutant drop-in center operating in the Bronx. This caused her to be targeted by the Church of Humanity, who abducted her and Professor Christopher Lee, sponsor of the Center. Taken to the Morlock Tunnels, Alejandra was crucified by the group, but was rescued by Angelo, Miguel and members of X-Force. Her injuries were serious, but not debilitating, and she would eventually make a full recovery, with assistance provided by Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.
After Angelo's break up with Amanda in the summer of 2009, they eventually rekindled their relationship. She continued to work at the mutant drop-in center in the Bronx and caring for her brother, but has also started studying nursing part-time. In August 2012, Miguel relocated to Cleveland in order to take advantage of a top-rate heart hospital there. Alejandra joined him, once more ending the relationship between herself and Angelo.
