Plot Summary
While working out in a gym in town, Sarah Morlocke was approached by Edward Eberts, a former lab technician with the Tearaway program. He had returned to the Army when it was shut down, attached to the Marauders unit that was formed at Fort Bragg. Present as a support unit at the scene of the Morlock Massacre, the incident unhinged him, leading him to save both Artie Maddicks and Miles Blaire before fleeing. Driven deeper into paranoia and insanity by his guilt, he had built the men up as vicious murderers, unaware of the full story.
His file gave names to the men who killed her family, including Major John Greycrow, who she had trained with only months before. Determined for revenge, Sarah left for the Morlock tunnels, where Eberts had claimed they were hiding. On entering the tunnel, Sarah promptly ran afoul of the Marauders who seemed to confirm all of Eberts stories.
