Plot Summary
Having escaped from the disastrous raid on the Citadel or been freed from the prison, small groups of Xavierites made their way to the pre-arranged safe house, where they convened for medical attention, food, sleep and news, including that of who had been captured. Garrison reported an update on the situation to the Professor, and then contacted his father, a former special agent with British Intelligence, who provided the group a contact within the Genoshan government, one Russell Dais.
Jean, Garrison, Angelo and Bishop met with Russell Davis, who explained to them that two popular members of Commissions may be persuaded to speak out against the Genoshan government but only if they were provided with evidence of mutant mistreatment. The group split into several teams:
- Nico, Sooraya, and Artie broke into the Genoshan administration office to access the computer filing system, noting mutants who have been 're-assigned' living quarters out of the enclave, but never show up in other enclaves. They also found suspicious support requirements in isolated locations outside of the city;
- Sam and Callisto flew over a mining site to video some mutant mistreatment;
- Maddie, Jean-Paul and John broke into the Genoshan Power Authority building in the city and made some discoveries about operations in the geothermal power plant.
Back from their intel gathering missions, the group shared what they've learned, but their safe house was found out by the Magistrates and they were forced to scatter. Upon regrouping, they met with the two Commission members, Joseph and Jobeth, and showed them the evidence they'd gathered. Shocked by the proof of their government's corruption and maltreatment of the mutant population, Joseph and Jobeth agreed to a plan to broadcast the videos across the nation.
Jean and Callisto used a faking-sick Maddie to get into the Genoshan Broadcasting Commission building. Angelo, Jean-Paul, Sam and Artie broke in the back way and secured the transmitter controls while Garrison, Sooraya, Bishop, John and Nico accompanied Joseph and Jobeth to the broadcast booth and released the pictures and video they acquired. Response came in the form of Mutate 42 - Laurie - and her handler, Semoko attacking the broadcast studio, with the group barely escaping and the two Commission members gunned down on live television. The rest of the Xavier's group was attacked by Magistrates on the roof and were nearly taken down when Mutate 1337 - formerly Sarah Vale - joined in, but quick thinking saved the day.
