Even through the fog Kyle's vehemence struck something in him. Marius' eyes widened, just a little, before he slid his gaze away again. He knew Kyle considered him to be someone worth keeping in his life, and always had. They wouldn't have kept in contact for all these years if not for that. But now, in this moment, Marius couldn't understand why. He looked at the determination on Kyle's face and felt only a great emptiness. Mate, you think I'm so much more than I am. You all did. Yeah, this isn't gonna be that. I had to take classes on this shit, I teach teenagers." He pulled a phone out from the depths of the terrible lime basketball shorts. "This is me texting Terry, and god I hope you like bread because expect she'll be showing up a lot to make it. The catering kitchen's still fucked. Whatever room they put you in, you get a roommate until, I dunno, I decide you're not gonna go toss yourself into a volcano." His voice finally had expression, firm stubbornness and a break as he said aloud the fear he had, that Marius would consider suicide. "We don't have any volcano kinetics here right now, don't get any ideas. You get me, my grading papers at 5am and Shamu sleeping on your butt." "Eh, sorry?" Marius said, unsure whether he'd parsed the rush of words correctly. "I'm going to . . ?" "You're going to be living with me until such a time that someone decides you're not actively fucking suicidal." Kyle said, eyes still closed, voice on the verge of a growl. "Which means my girlfriend is going to show up at all hours to make food, because that's what she does, and you're going to tolerate my cat who probably is going to sleep on you because he loves everyone more than me." "I wouldn’t hurt myself," Marius protested, although even he could perceive the frisson at the end of the sentence that implied an unspoken 'here'. He shook his head dismissively. "Look, I appreciate the concern, but this isn't necessary. It's just . . . it's hitting me all at once right now, all right? Once my head's straight again she’ll be right. I'm adaptable. It's one of my few redeeming features." "I don't believe you." Kyle said. "My ears still work, you were all 'what would I end up as the third time', and you're assuming it'll happen and assuming the platelets are fucked, and man, of everyone I'd think you know I'm not as dumb as I pretend. I'm the... " He cut himself off. "It doesn't matter, you get a suitemate for a while. If nothing else, it means if your platelets are fucked, you're safe. Consider me the emergency parachute." Marius opened his mouth, then shut it. Finally he met Kyle's gaze, and held it. "Never in my life have I thought of you as dumb," he said. Today in XProject: November 11 - Veterans Day PHASE 2 2015: 2016: Gabriel posts about his clothes being stolen from the dryer. Cecilia thanks the person who left the latte on her desk and Maya does the same for whom gave her the cactus. 2017: Logan posts a thank you to all the veterans, on Veteran’s Day. Johnny posts about Thanksgiving, inviting everyone with no plans to join him for Storm-apalooza. Angel and Kurt have a DR session, and talk about life. 2018: Jean-Paul texts Kitty about welcoming her home. 2019: Darcy announces she has caught Clea's cold... and Topaz' cat. 2020: Time Stand Still: A teams meeting is held to discuss what to do about the other Topaz; Alison meets Franklin, the six year old son of Sue and Reed, and is bemused; Kevin goes over Topaz’s schedule for the plan and is concerned about her lack of a life. 2021: Kevin and Jubilee talk about setting up new milk runs with Darcy and address Jubilee’s reluctance to do certain parts of the job. 2022: Nica emails Garrison about hostage negotiation training. 2023: Sam reaches out to Clint with the realization that he has been made homeless by the flood. A Haven to Call Home: Scott shares the mission report to the X-Men of what transpired at the riot; Quentin opens up to X-Factor, and Haller, about a secret he's been keeping concerning Haven; Haller and Hope A. work together to bring people back from the astral plane; X-Factor cleans up the mess they made and finally head home; but the Haven in Radha's heart remains. PHASE 1 2003: 2004: Remy and Lorna return from Europe. Nathan and Amanda train her telekinetic spell. Sharon "Catseye" Smith arrives at the mansion. Manuel and Bobby go out, get drunk and sleep together. 2006: Angelo talks to Ororo about Smichov and how to get back to normal life. Forge and Julio discuss might-have-beens in the quarry. Angel and Kurt discuss the circus and he tells her he is no longer welcome with the Szardos Clan. Domino emails Nathan and Pete, telling them of her intended visit. Marie decides to accept her parents' invitation and tells Logan and Clarice. Angel and Lorna discuss crushes and the Amaquelin sisters have a spa day in. Angelo has a nightmare and Forge is introduced to Sarah, who happens to be spending the night. 2007: Julio complains about school and expresses his plan to become a lounge singer. Scott and Jennie discuss Nimrod. 2008: Kevin gives Yvette her late birthday present. Angelo gets run into by a playful Catseye. Mark is happy about new music. Morgan tells Adrienne she's leaving the mansion. Jane begs Nathan to be allowed to work again and ends up with a trip to Tel Aviv. 2009: Hank informs the staff that Fred is breathing on his own although he's still in a coma and that if students are skipping classes to see the young man, he'll send them on their way. Logan meets Callisto after her class and pegs her for a streetfighter. He asks her out for a drink and food, she agrees and he gets to know her over games of pool at Harry's. Amanda and Doug teach Laurie about being on a team and trust as well as combat, before relocating to Silver to lower her inhibitions and let loose a little in the most unorthodox way. Before Adrienne is to meet Morgan, she sees Remy and accidently reads his staff, going through a part of his past she would have rather not seen and threatens to call the police. Adrienne emails Emma and asks her sister to mind wipe that event with Remy. She also messages Morgan and asks for a raincheck. 2010: Jean stops by Garrison's office in the city with coffee and donuts, the two talk about Jean's visit with her family and why she's been so quiet about the West Coast Annex. 2011: Sons of Liberty: Brand and Kane reach William Naslund's apartment and find some disquieting news; Jean and Kyle go to investigate the name on the letter that Kane texted them; Kane e-mails Hank to ask him to get the autopsy report of Naslund. 2012: Topaz sends Amanda an e-mail thanking her for coming to England and helping her. Scott and Johnny spend a session in the Danger Room working on Johnny’s agility. Sue and Artie head off to go skating before they get caught in the rain and decide to try again another day. Johnny stumbles across a sleeping Callie and the two of them catch up. Allumwandlung in Azure and Gules: Jason Wyngarde and Strathdee discuss their plans before the party starts, and some last minute alterations. The Black and White courts arrive at the party and Wyngarde is surprised by the presence of some of Xavier’s associates. Adrienne and Wyngarde meet in private so he can return her funds, but when he makes a new proposal Adrienne doesn’t take it well. Adrienne compels Wyngarde to return her funds and starts to reveal the true shape of the nights events. Continuing with her big reveal Adrienne tells Wyngrade about getting her sister involved and Doug and Sarah V.’s development of the ghost system so they could track his manipulations of the data. Adrienne also tells about Jean and Amanda’s arrival through the sewers, how Haller and Betsy deceived Astrid Bloom and that Garrison worked with Jane Hampshire to convince her father to participate in the plot. Various tales about dealing with assassins and battling them are also told. Adrienne also has to explain how she has involved the FBI in helping to bring down Wyngarde through Sebastian Shaw, at the cost of most of her own fortune. Adrienne catches Wyngarde up with the last of the events and information he's been missing- what's happening at the meeting of the Lords Cardinal right about now. With the tale completed, Adrienne says her fond farewells to Wyngarde, thanking him for giving her something she didn't think she possessed. The Grey Clerk delivers verdicts and the White Court takes their leave of the Blue Queen after the White Queen offers to help with new Blue Court appointments. 2013: Johnny and Clarice talk in the medlab when Johnny comes in thinking he broke his arm. Rachel and Matt have another midnight chat in the kitchen. 2014: Death is Legion: Dugan texts Kane about some Weapon X info; Kyle's mom calls about his dad being in a car accident, resulting in phone tag as Kyle tries to call her back about going to see her; Kyle posts on x_staff looking for someone to take his classes while he goes home; Kane gathers the mansion's Weapon X survivors to discuss their next steps; Wade leaves voicemails for Marie-Ange and Doug letting them know he's going out of town for a while.
