Plot Summary
In April 2009, whilst playing basketball with Angelo, Jake began to experience painful sensations in his missing arm, as if it was being electrocuted. The following month, Cammie had an odd encounter with a man claiming to be sent by her biological mother. She refused to listen to him and he eventually left.
Then one night, Jake woke up to the sensation of someone cutting off fingers from his arm. He notified Remy, who got Amanda to take care of him that night and later, as she was going on a fact-gathering mission, Wanda informed Jake he was coming to Vermont with her so she could keep an eye on him.
Cammie received a parcel containing the fingers of her adoptive parents and instructions to go to an abandoned warehouse in her old home town; running into Kurt, Cammie refused to wait and used her powers on him to stop him from stalling her or getting the X-Men and then stole Angelo's car to drive to Vermont. In Vermont, Jake also got a call, about his missing arm, and Wanda prevented him from fleeing the country, instead insisting they go to where Jake had been instructed to go.
Cammie and Jake both arrived at their meeting point, only to find they were both wanted by New Son and its agent, George Tarleton. Things went pear-shaped when George betrayed the New Son agents accompanying him and Cammie and Jake escaped in the confusion. Jake realised Cammie had been sent his fingers, used to trick her into coming and a call was made to Kurt - who had been found by Jean-Paul and taken to the medlab - for backup. As Wanda was collected, Cammie's parents called and the situation became even more serious as it was revealed Tarleton was at the Black house.
Jake and Cammie went to her parents' house to confront George and Monica Rappaccini, Cammie's birth mother and it was revealed Cammie was designed as a biological weapon. The X-Men and Wanda came to the rescue, but George and Monica escaped. Jake and Wanda talked about the New Son connection to his missing arm; and Kurt and Cammie talked about choosing your family.
Upon returning to the brownstone, Jake emailed Forge about the courier who delivered his fingers to Cammie and viewed the security footage, which showed that the fingers were delivered by an Infonet courier. Cammie apologised to Angelo for taking his car and Amanda emailed Cammie to let her know she wasn't going to curse her for poisoning Kurt.
Elsewhere, George Tarleton woke up after an accident whilst being teleported away from the X-Men to find Monica Rappaccini had "improved" him.

Meta
"Rappaccini's Daughter" is an allusion to the Nathaniel Hawthorne story of the same name. The story is about the daughter of a scientist whose father has experimented on her and made her breath and touch poisonous. Canonically, Monica Rappaccini was named after the scientist in the story.
