Plot Summary
Match found himself the winner of a set of VIP tickets to the Excelsior Digital Interactive Experience to be held at the Jacob Javits Centre. He was joined by a host of other mansionites at the event, and the group was told by their event coordinator to expect what would be heralded as "the next stage in gaming." They instead found themselves drugged, abducted, and moved to an undisclosed location to participate in the latest version of Arcade's Murderworld.
Sharon, while knocked out, is forgotten by staff after reflexively shapeshifting into her small cat form. She woke alone and went to investigate where her friends were taken.
Meanwhile, everyone else found themselves paired to participate in a themed interactive experience – a high tech prison cell utilizing power inhibitor technology that held cameras to stream the action. Each room was themed around an old school video game, but each scenario resulted in a similar choice: one player must sacrifice themself so that the other might live. There could only be one player remaining.
- Clea and Paige awoke in the world of Tomb Raider.
- Emily and Rogue experienced the horror of Silent Hill.
- Madin and Mel battled royale in Super Smash Brothers.
- Match, Inez and Liam barreled their way through Donkey Kong.
- Jesse and Shatterstar explored the wasteland of Fallout.
- Jono and Ashley plumbed through the obstacles of Super Mario.
- Rictor and Hope stole hearts in the world of Persona.
The operations behind the event were tossed into panic due to the stealthy machinations of Sharon. Her assault of the support staff and infrastructure freed everyone else before their situations proved fatal. They then proceeded to fight their way to freedom. With this chaos ensuing, Arcade – their primary unseen observer – remotely triggered a self destruct sequence that imploded the venue upon anyone who could not evacuate.
The mansionites escaped Murderworld intact, only to see it destroyed behind them.
Plot Aftermath & Follow Up
Garrison Kane posted an all teams readout after consulting with local law enforcement. Arthur Centino followed up on this, interviewing members of the event venue and local hospital. Arthur and Jessica Jones went to survey the ruins of the demolished Murderworld, but found no leads. Garrison reminded Generation X of the always open offer for hand to hand training in the Danger Room. Several take him up on it.
Those kidnapped processed in their own ways:
- Sharon eagerly informed Felicia of her savior status.
- Madin and Mel confronted each other about choices made inside the life or death simulation.
- Shatterstar connected with Terry, Haller, and Mel separately to discuss and process the guilt of not wanting to sacrifice himself.
- Mel met with Marius and begins to consider options for not feeling defenseless by joining the X-Men, and she approached Namor about weapon training.
- Marius consoled Rogue over the return of the field trip curse and the heavy choices forced.

Trivia
The targeting of the younger members of the mansion was in direct contravention to the rules Jacob Lowenstein gave his nephew when he handed over the title of Arcade. It remains to be seen how Uncle Jacob reacts to this.
