The Brotherhood of Mutants are a group gathered by Magneto in order to effect his goal of mutant domination. Scattered during Magneto's imprisonment at the end of X1, they were regathered by him after X2, his determination to prevent a mutant apocalypse reinforced by Stryker's plans. Their beliefs have frequently led them into conflict with the X-Men, with Xavier's students holding the upper edge. So far. Late 2006/early 2007 proved particularly disastrous for the Brotherhood, with the defection of Quicksilver, the capture of Sabretooth and the disappearance of Mystique.

Things would later turn around, however, as Mystique reappeared and the Brotherhood began to recruit again, with new member Nimrod appearing in a situation in Germany and another potential, Ilyas Saidullayev, being rescued by Magneto in Dagestan. Saidullayev did not remain with the Brotherhood, however, choosing to ally himself with Tara Trask.

The Brotherhood refreshed its ranks somewhat when they freed a number of mutants from a Russian prison and seized an orbital weapons platform before being defeated by the X-Men. Most of these new members were taken into custody, or presumed to be otherwise dealt with after the incident.

In June 2008, a team of Brotherhood comprising of Mystique, Nimrod, Kamahl, Senyaka and new recruit Abyss, laid a trap for a group of younger X-Men, torturing and interrogating them for information they could not have. The ultimate motive for this remains unknown. The X-Men escaped, as did the Brotherhood. Mystique and Nimrod resurfaced again in February 2009, involved in the abduction of the son of a prominent anti-mutant politician. The X-Men again foiled the plan, although several of the team were seriously injured.

In November 2009 during the country's biggest ever mass escape, Toad, Katu and Bloodhawk escaped. Despite run-ins with the X-Men, they remained at large and are presumed to have rejoined Magneto.
+
The Brotherhood of Mutants are a group gathered by Magneto in order to effect his goal of mutant domination following his schism with Charles Xavier. Scattered during Magneto's imprisonment at the end of X1, they were re-gathered by himself and Mystique after X2, his determination to prevent a mutant apocalypse reinforced by Stryker's plans. Their beliefs have frequently led them into conflict with the X-Men, with Xavier's students holding the upper edge. So far. More recently (2018), they were involved in a number of attacks on blood banks and research hospitals following a ban on mutant donations. Strangely, Magneto was not seen during these attacks, which appeared to be led instead by Mystique.

In February 2013, Garrison Kane and Adrienne Frost discovered Avalon after their ship sunk and they were rescued. The island  had been settled by Magneto as a supposed peaceful haven for mutants. The X-Men invaded the island to rescue Garrison and Adrienne, encountering a number of new Brotherhood members as well as old ones. The X-Men attack forced them to abandon the island, and the Brotherhood escaped with Magneto.
+
Then in 2021 the Brotherhood struck again, this time attacking a DARPA research facility. The X-Men were requested to assist by SHIELD as the Avengers were unable to attend. Not only were there several new members of the team, but Magneto himself appeared to have de-aged by several decades, appearing to be a man in his fifties, rather than his actual nineties. The engagement went badly for the X-Men, and Magneto revealed to former member Bevatron just what they had been protecting - a new Sentinels project. The Brotherhood targeted another research facility a month later, but this time it was X-Force involved, extracting a double agent - Clinton Barton - and fleeing the scene without actually engaging the far superior force. Things came to a head in 2022, when Magneto led an attack on Bolivar Trask's unveiling of the prototypes to his A.I.M. sponsors, revealing the true identity of Maggia leader Frank DeCosta as Olivier, a Hell Lord who was lending his demonic magic to the Sentinel weaponry. As a result of Clint Barton's previous tampering, the Sentinels targeted DeCosta instead of the mutants, and Magneto further injured the Hell Lord with a barrage of silver and cold iron, drawn from the environment. This weakened Olivier enough to send him retreating to his own dimension. The X-Men arrived at the facility and jointly dealt with the Brotherhood and the Sentinels before destroying the "Master Mold", the manufacturing unit. Toad, Thornn and Unuscione were taken into custody, however with a teleporter in the team, they soon escaped: Thornn was present at a meeting with a Brotherhood resource along with Phantazia and Zero when it was gatecrashed by Jessica Jones, requiring Garrison Kane and Jean Grey to come to the rescue.

Jason Wyngarde is one of the oldest members of the Brotherhood. He rarely deploys with the team, as his powers make him central to maintaining the Brotherhood’s extensive network of supporters and allies. He is a master illusionist and supports the illusions with his natural charisma as a conman. Lorelei was originally Thornn’s best friend; a Morlock who used her abilities under the cover of busking to earn money for food and supplies for the group. She reluctantly allowed Thornn to convince her that the Brotherhood offered her a way to help more mutants, even if she isn’t as comfortable with violence as the rest. Lorelei possesses hypnotic powers as well as being able to mesmerize any or all males within hearing range by singing.

He utterly dedicated to the Brotherhood but is desperate to prove himself as one of the premiere members. Avalanche has the power of seismokinesis: the ability to generate powerful waves of vibrations from his hands, creating highly destructive effects through the air, water, and ground. Details
