The Field Trip Curse is an ongoing joke that stopped being funny sometime around the third field trip to end in disaster. It refers to the propensity of Xavier's field trips to go awry.
Cursed Field Trips include:
- The Museum trip at the beginning of X2.
- The Muir Island trip that was cut short due to a hurricane. Nathaniel Essex also operated on Betsy Braddock at this time.
- The RedX meeting where Skippy first appeared.
- The art museum trip which ended in Cable trying to assassinate Charles Xavier and being stopped by Pete.
- The Halloween party that got invaded by a demon.
- New Year's Eve at Muir Island that got crashed by Proteus and Joe MacTaggart.
- The blood drive when Doug got shot.
- The State Fair trip, where Terry was threatened by Tommy's FOH buddies.
- The Seattle trip which erupted into riots.
- The Washington trip where Jean was hypnotized by Mesmero and possessed by herself.
- The museum trip where the group ran afoul of Thomas Glorian.
- The political rally where Sabretooth appeared.
- The botanical gardens trip that ended in dinosaurs.
- The trip to Las Vegas which was abducted at the same time as the bus trip to New York being hijacked.
