About

Karen "Frito" Lawrence is currently an active player of X-Project. She began playing Marie-Ange Colbert in May of 2003, and Kyle Gibney in October of 2004. She currently acts as one of the admins for the Xproject wiki, and has been a mod of the game twice previously, retiring from her most recent tenure as a mod in April 2017. She also hosts and maintains the webpage and is generally responsible for dealing with the technical end of any of the webpage-y things for the game.

A former resident of Baltimore and the Washington DC Area, she now lives in San Marcos, CA (a bit north of San Diego) - she hates snow and shoes, and loves seafood, tea and math. She lives with Twiller and their son "Typechip", born in February 2014, and has a truly astounding number of stuffed animals for someone who is in her forties.

She also claims to be 1/4 allosaurus.

June 30 PHASE 1 2003: Everett has a powers accident, Scott talks him down. Pete happens to somebody in the Arctic. 2004: 2005: Nathan plans to go to San Francisco to visit his father. Alison unsuccessfully tries to learn to fly with her power. Forge and Jay talk about HeliX version 2. 2006: Jennie meets her father for the first time. Jennie and Forge go on a date. 2007 Carmen Animi Vermium: After the rugby game, Monet has an odd encounter with a homeless man, not recognising her brother, Marius St. Croix. Immram: Nathan collapses whilst getting Rachel's breakfast and she telepathically screams the mansion down, raising the alarm; Jean and Charles discover Tara Trask in Nathan's mind, trapped by his shields, and Jean helps him remove her; Jean and Wanda confront Trask and discover she has been astrally projecting herself into Askani's future and has misunderstood the philosophy. Farouk and Haller talk about Haller's DID. Angelo visits Nathan in the infirmary and is pleased to hear a vacation has been enforced for him. Bhagavad Gita: A nuclear explosion occurs in India, killing 300,000 people and creating tensions as Pakistan prepares to defend itself; Amanda posts to x_snowvalley about the incident; Farouk emails Charles, suggesting the students be confined to grounds and Charles responds that caution will be taken, but no grounding. Manuel reflects on Spain winning the World Cup and the bombing in India. Laurie 'fails' a training session due to a lack of ability to do anything other than use her powers and gets some advice. Monet talks to both Nathan and Angelo about events in Kyrgyzstan. 2009: Adrienne announces her return from Boston, but that she will be living in her penthouse in New York for the summer. Callie and Fred rent movies together and are cute. Julian emails Callie and Fred, suggesting they take Yvette to the beach. Kurt catches up with Doreen up a tree and they talk about freedom and he offers to take her to Germany one day. Analog Kid, Digital Man: Returning from the gym, Kyle and Laurie get stuck in one of the elevators when Milan and Quire spring their plan; Forge and Crystal have to calm Doug down when he thinks it's Mastermold come to get him; realising they're the only ones left in the hotel, Forge, Crystal and Doug work out what's going on and that it must be Milan and Quire working together; Kyle and Laurie rejoin the other three and a plan is formed; Laurie and Crystal track down Quire, showing him just why telepaths should keep their brains to themselves; Forge struggles his way through an army of maintenance bots to get to the main power supply; Kyle and Doug take down Milan, but he manages to get away at the last minute by tasering both of them and Forge lets him go. Mnemovore: Fred comforts Johnny with fast food and some sensible words; Johnny emails Fred to update him on Jean-Paul's condition; Wanda visits Nathan and finds out what Jake said to him; a furious Wanda breaks Jake's nose and reads him the riot act for being a jerk. 2010: Jean-Paul emails Cammie, suggesting bacon when she's well enough. 2011: Warren announces the departure of those going to the Hamptons for the holiday weekend. Crystal wishes those leaving a good weekend. Don't Close Your Eyes: Kurt runs into Jean leaving the Professor's office doing some "last minute work". Rogue states she needs an intervention to break her way from her laptop. 2016: 2017: Maya posts about wanting to SWAT someone. 2018: Amanda, in the spirit of Canada Day, offers a trip to get supplies, granted Clarice offers some teleporting; Hope A. and Sue decide to beat a skeezy silver spoon fed man at his own game. 2019: 2020: 2021: 2022: Pyotr and Sooraya chat while on comms duty about powers, Illyana, and art. 2023: Monica e-mails Darcy to check in on how she’s doing. Moment of Awesome - Jay Guthrie/Icarus: When Namor happens upon a fishing Jay, the interaction takes a number of turns, before the younger man offers an ear to the ancient royal. Even if part of him believes the man to be a ghost. Jay turned slightly to look at the wet figure behind him- no monster, but Jay wasn't going to rule out the man being some sort of spectre. He was surprised to notice the small, hummingbird like wings on the man's ankles. Ever since he'd gotten his wings he hadn't been one much for submerging himself. Then again, there was waterfowl. Maybe this man was more like a duck. Jay glared at him slightly as his heart slowed down. "You got me pretty damn good," he said to the figure. "And that's a shame about the bass." Namor stopped, turned, and squinted. "Never doubt that I do everything 'pretty damn good.'" He took a swig of water. "There is more pleasant fishing on the other side of the lake — a healthy stock of perch." He stretched his arms wide, seemingly unbothered by being wet in the chilly March air. Jay's politeness got the better of him, now that he was willing to rule the figure out as a ghost after watching him drink. "Well, I'll be taking that advice if'n you'd like to join," he figured it would be a no and kicked off. Why walk all the way around the lake when he could fly there in a shorter path? This got a stare. "You," and the incredulity in the Atlantean's tone was so plain as he squared his shoulders that he might as well have been pointy, "Clearly understand nothing of Namor." His eyes blazed with pride for just a moment, but then, "I have not been fishing in 5,000 years." Maybe Jay had judged this Namor as not being a spectre too soon. He didn't sound like he was exaggerating when he said 5,000 years. "You want to be joining in then?" He asked, not letting himself be put off by this self important man's attitude, especially when he sensed just a hint of sadness in his last statement. The full weight of inhuman ice blue's eyes fell upon Jay Guthrie as the young man received his full appraisal. Whatever they found, Namor answered, "We accept your invitation. It should be diverting, at the least." He nodded. "What is your weapon of choice? Simple hook and line?" "Well, I don't got a net for trawling and I never liked folks who shoot at the fish," Jay said as he began to fly to the other side of the lake, following Namor's knowledge of it. It also gave him an excuse to turn away from the man. That stare gave him the heebie-jeebies something fierce. The other, muscled man took a minute to retrieve his water bottle from the dock, although he didn't follow immediately after. He had retreated back up to the boathouse itself, grabbing an item. Still, his voice echoed across the water to Jay in questioning disbelief. "They do what to the fish?" "Shoot at 'em," Jay called back, gesturing as if he held a shot gun in his arms. "Bam! Just overkill I think." The Atlantean was there, then, crossing the lake on his own flight — movements quick and jerky compared to Jay's own soaring. A man stepping on air between hovers. His wings blurred in motion. "Typical," Namor judged, "Mankind loves to show power when it is least needed." He had fetched, it seemed, both a practice spear and an old, unloved fishing pole. Namor darted forward, if only to be just a breath in the lead. "The joy is in the hunt, not the kill. Foolish." Jay watched the other man fly, hummingbird-like and urgent, like he had to get wherever he was going yesterday. He observed Namor's fishing gear- he hadn't even thought of spear fishing. Jay wasn't sure he had ever met anyone who spear-fished. Then again, if this man was some sort of ghostie like he had expected, why wouldn't he? Wasn't that something they'd done before fishing poles? Just how old was this guy? Jay landed into a walk, setting his own fishing gear about. "My joy's always been in the atmosphere and the wait, but to each his own. I agree with you about the power thing though. No need for it."
