About

Karen "Frito" Lawrence is currently an active player of X-Project. She began playing Marie-Ange Colbert in May of 2003, and Kyle Gibney in October of 2004. She currently acts as one of the admins for the Xproject wiki, and has been a mod of the game twice previously, retiring from her most recent tenure as a mod in April 2017. She also hosts and maintains the webpage and is generally responsible for dealing with the technical end of any of the webpage-y things for the game.

A former resident of Baltimore and the Washington DC Area, she now lives in San Marcos, CA (a bit north of San Diego) - she hates snow and shoes, and loves seafood, tea and math. She lives with Twiller and their son "Typechip", born in February 2014, and has a truly astounding number of stuffed animals for someone who is in her forties.

She also claims to be 1/4 allosaurus.

August 29 PHASE 2 2015: Gabriel texts Clint demanding breakfast. The Good Samaritan: The Mutant Watch website posts about a possible mutant sighting; Sue posts about the mutant sighting in Rapid City. Ty posts about missing his pants. Angel texts Clint informing him that they need to hang out with clothes. Clint texts Matt about accidentally dating Angel. Laurie texts Clint to ask him about Angel. Doug texts Angel to tease her about Clint. Jean posts asking who put books in the fridge and dressed up a skeleton. Angel is jubilant about creating Kyle-edible treats. 2016: Clea is not ready to be a junior when school restarts and asks for someone to take her shopping. Darcy hints that someone should buy her an eevee plushie for the winter holidays. 2017: Flight of the Valkyrie: Amanda emails Tandy and Ty, asking them to watch Illyana for signs of Hel’s influence; Illyana is disappointed the “cool Valkyrie chick” didn’t come back from Asgard with them. Psi War: Jean meets a new patient with unusual symptoms and there’s some light flirting. 2018: Darcy posts a desperate need for more office supplies. 2019: 2020: 2021: 2022: Blackout: Clint, Forge, and Molly begin the announced upgrades; it goes much worse than one would expect; Forge texts Molly and Clint about the problem, and Clint posts an all-call for help; Alex posts about a cookout and camping. Molly, Forge, and Clint try to turn everything back on - it doesn't work; Forge ends up in the med lab with damage to his prosthetic; Matt and Doug wake up to the blackout and Matt is amused; Doug mocks Clint; Matt mocks everyone; Marie-Ange tells X-Force she will not expense their hotel rooms to get away from the mansion; Kyle posts about grilling; Alani closes the library, not wanting to be responsible for anything happening; Maya meets Kevin, and it doesn't go terribly. 2023: Sharon S. comes across Megan, learns everything there is to know about her wings and accepts her's offer of a manicure. Darcy makes a journal entry to share a video about Super Mario 64. Sooraya and Warren talk, and Warren is lucky he doesn't end up wearing half the pasta sauce. Kane keeps his promise to Jean and joins her to be examined by Bruce Banner, when, unfortunately, a teammate of his drops by to 'help'. Topaz makes a journal entry advising she’s going to be out of the country for a while. Madin runs into a BBQ with Kane, and forgets the rule that when talking to a cop, all you ever say is 'lawyer'. Inez meets Liam while he's fishing. 2024: Paige, Jono, Mel, Ashley, Match, Emily, Clea, Kevin S., Jessie, Sharon S., and Doug come together to create characters and go over the basics for their Dungeons and Dragons game. PHASE 1 2003: Dr. Moira MacTaggart emails Charles, Essex and Rahne, announcing her intention to visit. Pete raises concerns about the ethics of John not being tried for colluding with Magneto. 2004: Amanda encounters Jubilee in the main hall and the pair proceed to beat the crap out of each other, without and then with powers. Angelo tells Jubilee the truth of Amanda's scars when he finds out about what Patches told her. Jubilee decides to go off on her own little revenge mission against Patches and is stopped and brought back. Marie-Ange argues the ethics of his actions with Manuel. 2005: Tommy's presence in the school is discovered by the students. 2006: 2007: Nathan invites Kyle to join him in Tel Aviv; Angelo arrives in Tel Aviv and is picked up by Theo and Domino. Crystal drops in on Scott and arranges to go on the white water rafting trip. Terry announces her imminent return at the end of summer. The Winding Way: Amanda makes arrangements for herself, Kurt, Jimaine and some of the Trenchcoats to go to Germany to confront Margali. Laurie meets Sarah in the gym. 2008: Razor's Edge: Yvette invites Laurie, Angel and Kyle to come with her and an Elpis team to an Amnesty International conference in Kosovo. Operation: Retribution: Remy, Sarah, Marie-Ange, Wanda, Amanda and Jubilee assassinate three members of the Imperial Guard as a warning to the Indian government that incidents like Sri Lanka will not be tolerated. Adrienne is pleased to announce she's a full member of the staff. 2009: Victor posts a picture of a sand lizard the students made. Amanda and Wanda meet at Finnegans for drinks and Amanda sinks through the floor and ends up in Madrid. Malibu Madness: Julian does more damage to his already-damaged house and Fred talks him out of further destruction; the students leave Malibu. Jubilee announces movie night at her place. Yvette posts about her return home. Cammie and Tabitha meet at the public library and Tabitha decides at the last moment not to post her ad on Craig's List, but in a fit of frustration hits the keyboard and posts it accidentally. 2010: Crystal emails Warren and asks him out for dinner. 2011: Yvette comments on how young the first year students are at university. Christian's Angels: The X-Men and co meet Colleen Wing, Misty Knight and Jessica Drew at Knightwing Restorations. 2012: Fred talks to Garrison about Arcade. 2013: Maddie texts Sue suggesting they watch a movie since Maddie is exhausted. No Way Back: Hope sends Charles an e-mail asking for help since her parents want to withdraw her from the school; Hope texts her friends revealing that her family had been the target of the FOH pushing her parents to disown Hope. 2014: After her post the previous night Molly contacts Rogue to see if she can practice the fastball special on her.

Moment of Awesome - Sarah Rushman/Marrow: At the Paris Hellfire Club,Sarah and Darcy Lewis have a simple - or not so simple - job. Take out the guards, find the key to the security office and wrench back control of the systems. "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong," Sarah muttered as they rushed toward the door to the basement. She had abandoned her pressed white uniform coat back in the security room, it would only get in the way for what they needed to do. In her right hand was a bone pulled from her shoulder, blunt and bloody. "Maybe next time we should do the hard way first, just to save time." Darcy let out a soft snort of agreement, finally managing to get one of the weapons hidden in her dress free. The blade was a small, unassuming thing, not long enough to kill on its own... but it didn't need to, not with the thin channel of poison that ran down the middle, only able to be released with the slide of a discreet section on the hilt. "I liked this gown," she murmured quietly, giving the tatters hanging from knee to hem - ripped to enable quicker movement - a mournful look. She wasn't the only one who had liked the gown either. "Next time maybe I'll play staff so my pretty stuff doesn't get taken or ruined." She slowed as they got closer to the known grouping of guards. "How do you want to tackle this? Up close isn't my best thing, but I can follow your lead. I'm not without tricks to make them regret touching us, at least." "I can go in hot. If we can get them to underestimate you, we can use that to our advantage." She wished the guards were on the inside of this door-- it would have attracted less attention-- but that didn't matter now. If they didn't get to that switch, everyone was fucked. "Take out the guards, find the key, save our asses." Sarah rushed forward then, hoping to take as much attention off Darcy as possible. She swung at the head of one guard, who dodged back and into another guard behind them. Darcy slipped to the side as Sarah went in swinging, grappling with a third guard. They got an arm around her neck, but a few grunts and twists later she'd pulled them forward with her, left leg behind them and knife sliding through pants into soft skin. Her thumb slid up the hilt of the knife enough to deliver a few drops of the poison before sliding back and out, right hand still keeping a firm grip on the arm around her neck. She dropped the knife behind her and swung upward with her now free hand, channeling a taser's worth of voltage - split between her hands - into the groin and forearm of the guard, keeping both hands pressed tightly against flesh and clothing until they slumped to the ground, muscles twitching erratically. Her knife got stowed carefully back into the sheath sewn into her dress before she started rifling through the guard's pockets and taking anything that looked remotely useful before stepping clear to join Sarah. "No key on this one." "Damn," Sarah grunted, ramming with a bony shoulder into a guard's midsection. Another guard lay slumped against the wall and bleeding from the temple. Not dead, but Sarah suspected that concussion was going to make it difficult for him to follow if he came to. She heard the guard above her pull something from a holster she hadn't noticed before, and jammed the bone hard against his kneecap. The knee hyperextended under the force of the blow, and the shot flew wide. "Heads up!" she called, and rolled out of the way.
