Details
As an entity fueled by research and development, eXcalibur does not require a cover to operate. While conflict may happen due to competing interests over items they seek to secure, the team does not actively look to engage in covert or paramilitary operations.
In 2022, eXcalibur's mission changed with the formation of an interdimensional wormhole in the basement of the chapel. Once the wormhole was stabilised, Clint and the rest of the team took on the task of monitoring the situation... and found themselves intervening in situations where a dimension had destabilised and needed some correction to return it back to its normal state.

SO, THEY’RE SWORD?
Nope, they’re not SWORD (Or SHIELD or WHO or Black Air or WAND or another other official agency. Hell, they aren’t even an acronym.). However, thanks to its connections to SWORD, SHIELD, Asgard, Atlantis, and X-Force, it was possible for eXcalibur to retrieve highly dangerous artifacts, contain them, and then hand them off to people who are better equipped to deal with items of Power. Following the loss of Avalon and the creation of the wormhole, they now monitor the wormhole for inter-dimensional disturbances and respond accordingly.
