The Field Trip Curse is an ongoing joke that stopped being funny sometime around the third field trip to end in disaster. It refers to the propensity of Xavier's field trips to go awry.

Cursed Field Trips include:

2003

• The Museum trip at the beginning of X2.

• The Muir Island trip that was cut short due to a hurricane. Nathaniel Essex also operated on Betsy Braddock at this time.

2004

• The HeliX meeting where Skippy first appeared.

• The art museum trip which ended in Cable trying to assassinate Charles Xavier and being stopped by Pete Wisdom.

• The Halloween party that got invaded by a demon.

2005

• New Year's Eve at Muir Island that got crashed by Proteus and Joe MacTaggart.

• The blood drive when Doug Ramsey got shot.

• The State Fair trip, where Terry was threatened by Tommy's FOH buddies.

• The Seattle trip which erupted into riots.

• The Washington trip where Jean Grey was hypnotized by Mesmero and possessed by herself.

2007

• The museum trip where the group ran afoul of Thomas Glorian.

• The political rally where Sabretooth appeared.

• The botanical gardens trip that ended in dinosaurs.

• The trip to Las Vegas which was abducted at the same time as the bus trip to New York being hijacked.

• The rafting trip where Laurie Collins 'killed' David Haller with her powers.

• The trip to Japan where Julio Richter nearly died stopping a major earthquake from levelling Tokyo.

2008

• The Red X trip to Sri Lanka that witnessed genocide.

• The training seminar in New York for the New Mutants on the day Apocalypse attacked.

2009

• The laser tag trip which was hijacked by Arcade.

• The play that was beset by the Macbeth curse.

• The Red X mission in Bosnia were Yvette Petrovic was blown up by a landmine.

• The art exhibit where people wound up swapping powers due to another mutant.

• The New Mutants expedition that was interrupted by a burned dope crop.

• The trip to Malibu where Johnny Gallo, Julian Keller, Vic and Nick were detained by a TSA employee, Julian's parents deserted them, Dori had to testify in her parents' divorce case, Yvette was wooed by a boy who already had a girlfriend and Julian's family's beach house was trashed by an old 'friend' of Julian's with a grudge, causing them to evacuate to the West Coast Annex.

• The botany trip where the group was attacked by a carnivorous plant.

• The trip to LA where Julian, Nico, Dori and Megan Gwynn had to take down drug dealers.

• The other play which was attacked by Regan Claremont.

2010

• the Red X mission to Pakistan which saw the students fighting off the Imperial Guard.

• The DnD game which got hijacked by the Staff of One.

• Graduation 2010, which was attacked by the Reavers and the Purifiers and Nicholas Gleason disappeared, presumed killed.

• The trip to a local street fair which wound up with the Untouchables losing their powers.

• The trip to Colorado, which saw Julian leave to rescue his parents from kidnappers and Nico, Dori and Crystal Amaquelin being taken by Nico's parents.

2011

• Nico's trip with Amanda to New Orleans, that included rescuing Marie-Ange.

• The haunted pawn shop visit.

• The brainwashing by Annalee of the New Mutants.

• Yvette's 19th birthday party.

• Halloween 2011 where people became their costumes.

2012

• The fundraiser fair where the FOH suddenly manifested dangerous mutant powers and caused a riot.

• The protest at the Genoshan Embassy which resulted in the kidnapping of all Xavier's people attending by Genosha.

• The Rennaisance Fair where a young girl made everyone believe they were in a fairy story.

• The pro-mutant concert attacked by the Purifiers.

• Tandy Bowen taken by her father.

2013

• The Slendermen attack on the students.

• A magic cave tries to kill the students

2014

• Art comes alive and attacks the students at an art fair
